Patricia M. Tracy

Patricia M. Tracy (née Jasmin), 87 of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Joseph R Tracy, died August 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Hartford on March 17, 1937 to Oclide D. Jasmin and Amy (née Wheeldon).  She married the love of her life, Joseph Tracy, on December 28, 1957 and moved to Broad Brook where they raised their family.

She raised her children with love and care through their early years, being always kind, patient, and supportive, even during difficult times. At 45, she decided to go back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in several local nursing homes and was a wonderful, caring nurse, and her patients loved her.

She was deeply involved in St. Catherine’s Church.  She was a choir member, soloist, lector, Eucharistic Minister and member of the Board of Religious Education & Parish Council.  The friendships she fostered though Home Mass and Marriage Encounter were among the dearest to her and continued on through her entire life.

She performed in several musicals with the St. Catherine’s Players, often in the lead role. Her talent as a singer enabled her to be a valued member of the Connecticut Opera Association.

Pat also loved to be involved with local politics, serving on numerous town boards such as the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Appeals.  Her political experience enabled her to manage the successful campaign for US Representative Bill Cotter in 1970.

She and Joe were lucky enough to retire early and moved to Cape Cod in 1989.  It was their absolute favorite place to be and enjoyed going to the beach, eating at Cooks and hosting family & friends there often.  She loved to travel, and with Joe they visited all 50 states, more than 20 countries, and several Caribbean islands.

She is survived by her son, Warren K. Burdick and his wife Jean; a daughter Lynne Tracy-Thim and her husband William; her grandchildren, Deborah Bates and her husband Edward, William, Alexander and Mara Thim and three great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Samantha and Ryland Bates. She was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Ann Burdick, who has been waiting for her for nearly 60 years.  They are now together forever.
