Patricia “Patti” Paolella, 81, of North Branford, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late John Paolella. Born in Bridgeport, CT on November 17, 1941, daughter of the late Anthony and Christine Sagliano. Loving mother of Christine (Thomas) Capaldo, Lisa Gagliardi and Anna Gagliardi (Stan Capp). Patti was a devoted grandmother to Erica and Sera Amato.
Patti worked many years at Yale University Dining Halls before her retirement-always making sure her students had eaten- making extra so they could take them for later, then owning a luncheonette in Florida before returning to Connecticut. Patti loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, butterflies, baking cookies, and her loyal companion Spike.
Patti is survived by her brother Robert Sagliano, half siblings Anthony Sagliano, Lucy Myers and Joseph Sagliano, and stepsisters Lynette O’Brien and Tina Tavano, as well as several aunt, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Hooker 1 at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s name to American Lung Association.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass to Celebrate the life of Patricia at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 80 Taylor Ave, East Haven on Saturday April 1 at 12:00 p.m.
