Patrick (Pat) Michael Kelly passed away at home on March 6, 2020 at the age of 61 after a long battle with lung cancer.
Patrick was born Jan. 17, 1959 in New London, CT the eldest son of Thomas J. Kelly and Eugenie (Sandy) B. Kelly. Pat worked for Sirois Tool Co., Inc. in Berlin CT. Patrick had a long & successful career as an CNC Machinist, Welder & Millwright.
Patrick always had projects going. He built and raced stock cars at the Waterford Speed Bowl and Thompson Speedways. Patrick was also an accomplished pilot he like attending airshows, talking shop with his all fellow aviation enthusiasts. Patrick was building a plane when became ill and even though he was to ill to fly he refused to give it up, so it was no surprise that he built his own flight simulator so he could continue to hone his pilot skills.
Patrick was supportive to many causes Alcoholics Anonymous being one of them. He was a distinguished member of this group with 28.7 years of sobriety and supported others in recovery.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father Thomas J. Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Faye Kelly, his children, his granddaughter ,daughter Christina Jessuk of Waterford,CT, Steven & daughter in law Heather Beach of Walton, KY , Michael Kelly of Willimantic, CT, Tyler Barker of Meriden, CT and Thomas Kelly of Torrington, CT. His mother Eugenie (Sandy) B. Kelly Of New London, CT. ,Sister Eugenie (Jeanie) A. Kelly OF Waterford, CT. Brother Thomas J. Kelly Jr. Of New London, CT. 6 nieces, 2 nephews and 2 great nieces that he loved dearly, and many, many cousins. Pat also leave his 3 dogs that he could not spoil enough.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM– 1:00 PM Neilan & Sons Funeral home, 12 Ocean Avenue, New London CT.
In Lieu of flowers. Donations will be accepted and donated to a his
favorite charities in his name.
