On Saturday February 12 at age 82, Phillip Stanley Craft passed bravely at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden Ct. Born September 14. 1939 in Maryland. Phillip is survived by his daughter Allyson Craft Budnick of Wallingford and his grandson’s Richard A. Budnick of West Hartford and Joseph J. Jacobson of Wallingford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Phillip was predeceased by his parents Herman Perry Craft and Louina Marey Pfannebecker Craft. He also is the last of 12 siblings Doris Tsakonas, William Craft, Marcia Clark, Louis Craft, Perry Jr. Craft, Rodney Craft, Robert Craft, Donald Craft, Alfrod Craft, Franklin Craft, Martha Ann Craft and David Craft.
Phillip served two tours in the Vietnam War being recognized with a Purple Heart and other awards for his brave service to our country as an Army infantry man. Following the war, he was employed for 30 years as a welder for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft first at the Southington plant and then retiring from the North Haven plant.
Phillip loved his best friend and companion Chico Budnick, gambling, his friends which were many and spoiling his daughter and grandsons.
Graveside services will be held March 5 2022 and the state veteran's cemetery 317 Bow Lane, Middletown Ct. at 10am with a celebration of Phillip’s life immediately following at Grand Central café ,76 Quinnipiac St, Wallingford, Ct.
Donations may be made to the ASPCA or local animal shelters in his honor.
