Phyllis Rosa, maiden name Onofrio, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on June 23, 1932, in New Haven, she was raised there before later residing in East Haven.
Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Rosa, and her son, Timothy Rosa. She is survived by her loving children: Vincent Rosa (Pamela), Daniel Rosa (Deborah), Donna McNamara (Kevin), and Sandra Rosa, as well as her cherished 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Phyllis had a remarkable talent for sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She lovingly created countless hats, scarves, and afghans for family and friends—each piece made with care and generosity. These handmade treasures will continue to warm and comfort those fortunate enough to receive them.
Family was the center of Phyllis’s life. She especially treasured hosting Sunday dinners, welcoming her children and grandchildren into her home and bringing her family together around the table. In her recent years, she enjoyed spending time at The Orchard House, where she found comfort and companionship.
Phyllis’s legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
There will be a memorial service at Our Lady of Pompeii Church (355 Foxon Road, East Haven, CT 06513) on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 am.
