Raymond C. Cann Jr. 1953-2021

Raymond Clifford Cann Jr. 67, of Old Lyme passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in New London.


Raymond was born in New Haven to Margaret Reynolds Cann and Raymond Cann Sr. on February 7, 1953. He married Terry A. Frank on November 25, 1972 in New Haven. He worked as an auto mechanic for over 50 years. He was once written up in the M100 as one of the best Mercedes mechanics in the area. He was owner and operator of Shoreline Service Center in Old Lyme for many years.


Ray’s first love was cars, and his second love was German Shepherds. He always had both in his life. For many years, he and his son enjoyed going to the car auctions. He loved getting great deals on cars. His German Shepherds were his best buddies over the years. They were a vital part of his immediate family.


Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Margaret Reynolds Cann and Raymond Cann Sr., his sister Joan Sarno, and his son Raymond Clifford Cann III. He is survived by his wife and best friend of over 50 years Terry, his two daughters Janna Austin (Robert) and Sheree Farina (Frank), six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.


There will be no services due to COVID-19.

Donations may be made in his memory to an animal shelter of your choice.
