Reynold J. Gagnon Jr. 1961-2021

Reynold Joseph Gagnon Jr., 59, of New London, passed away suddenly on Saturday June 12, 2021.

Reynold was born on September 9, 1961 to Reynold J. Gagnon Sr. and Gail DeLucia in New Haven, CT. He spent the majority of his life working as a general contractor and running his own business.

An avid animal lover, he would rescue injured wild animals such as mice, rabbits and birds until they were ready to be released. He had countless pets throughout his life including dogs & cats that he loved dearly. He was also a phenomenal chef who loved trying new recipes and cooking family favorites. He loved watching sports, specifically hockey & football and always cheered for the Flyers & the Saints.

Reynold was predeceased by his father Reynold J. Gagnon Sr., his mother Gail DeLucia Biondi, his sister Danielle Gagnon and his brother Jeffrey Gagnon.

He is survived by his children, Brittney Gagnon (Juan Carlos Molina), Brionna Sommo (Vincent Sommo) and Nicolas Gagnon (Johnna Dana).

He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren: Jovanie Molina, Jayvien Molina, Jayvius Molina, Giuliano Molina, Giancarlo Molina, Giulius Molina, Dominic Sommo, Jameson Sommo, Landon Sommo and Autumn Gagnon.

Those who knew our dad knew that he had two sides; the side of him with a big heart who would give you the shirt off his back and the other side of him that struggled with demons and addiction. Please keep our family in your thoughts as we now have lost our father for the second & final time. We hope now that he can finally Rest In Peace.

We feel we would be doing our father an injustice by not speaking about the growing substance abuse and overdose crisis that has plagued our country. It's not an issue until it's knocking on your door, and by then it may be too late. If you or somebody you know is suffering from substance abuse disorder or mental health issues, visit the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services website at samhsa.gov or call the 24-hour National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday July 27th at 11am at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton, CT.
