Richard Allen Hollister of Kent, CT died Saturday October 5, 2019. Before moving to Kent, he was a longtime resident of Washington, CT.
Richard was born July 6, 1944 to Allen and Ethel (Whittlesey) Hollister. He graduated Washington High School in 1962 and served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1972.
Richard was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following local high school sports. He especially enjoyed going to Shepaug baseball and basketball games. His true passion however was college basketball. He never missed a UCONN Huskies game.
Richard was predeceased by his wife Doris Hollister and son Richard “Moby” McNamee. He is survived by his daughters Robin Hollister of Washington, Helene Palella of New Preston, Brenda Temple of Waterbury and Dawn Jennings of Gaylordsville and their families.
A memorial service will be held at Salem Covenant Church in Washington, CT on Saturday, October 19 at 1pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Salem Covenant Church.
