OLD SAYBROOK- Richard H. Dittberner, Jr. joined his parents in Heaven on Sunday, February 7, 2021. He left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family and friends.
Born July 12, 1942, in Meriden, Richard was the son of Richard and Dorothy Dittberner.
Richard graduated from Wilcox Technical High School in 1960. He worked for Pratt & Whitney for 30+ years. He met his wife, Carol, in high school who he loved spending time vacationing with in Punta Cana and Florida. He loved spending time with his family playing set back and greedy. Richard enjoyed fishing, skiing and cruising around in his 1965 Cobra. In his later years, he enjoyed being surrounded by his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Dittberner, of Old Saybrook; daughter Kim Bowker and husband, Lew, of Old Lyme; son, Richard Dittberner and his wife, Dawn, of Branford; and daughter Kristen Guziczek, of Florida. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren; Alexandra Johnston and husband Dylan, Amber Bowker, Dante Guziczek, Ella Marshall, Jared Moore, and great granddaughter, Arianna Johnston, all of whom dearly loved Umpa.
He was predeceased by his parents.
At his request, a private memorial service for family will be held at a later date.
