Richard William (Dick/Rich) LaPorte

Richard William (Dick/Rich) LaPorte, born in Pawtucket, RI on June 3, 1949, firstborn son to Richard F LaPorte (d. 2012) and Jeanne Guindon (d. 1990), passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Hartford, CT, of congestive heart failure surrounded by his wife of 42 years and two youngest children. 

He married Judith Houle in 1970 and welcomed four children. That marriage unfortunately did not last and he remarried in 1982 to Linda (Ayrton) LaPorte.  This union welcomed two more children.

Richard spent the largest portion of his working days as a Salesman until his retirement. Once his children had all grown and left home, he decided to open his home to several youths in need by becoming a foster parent.

Richard leaves behind brother Gary LaPorte and his wife Linda and brother Patrick LaPorte and his wife Barbara. He also leaves his loving wife Linda, his six children (Diana Cote and husband Raymond, Robert LaPorte, Vicki Guilmain and husband Timothy, Richard LaPorte Jr., Michelle Siragusa and husband Paul, and Lisa King), his foster son (Brian Formanek), seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
