Rita Consiglio, 56, of Watertown, CT passed away on January 11, 2024 in Waterbury, CT. She was born on July 13, 1967, in New Haven, CT, the beloved daughter of the late Frank R. Streeto and Ann M. Streeto. Rita was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a selfless, beautiful person who always put her children and others before herself. Rita was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need; no questions asked. She was a smart, strong, and independent woman who overcame many obstacles in her life.
Rita was a paraprofessional in the New Haven Public School District for over 15 years. Her natural ability to work with children really shone through. She was well loved and made many impacts on the students she had the pleasure of working with.
Rita had an amazing sense of humor. She was always laughing, and making others laugh; even if you were in the worst mood, a phone call always made you feel better. Listening to music was one of Rita’s favorite things to do; she enjoyed a variety of music artists and styles. Above all, she got the most joy out of spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. She loved participating in cooking, baking, and arts and crafts activities; or simply just sitting with them in her room watching their favorite tv shows. Rita truly was one of a kind and we will miss her tremendously.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children Michael Consiglio, Ashley Mulhall, and Anthony Consiglio along with their significant others; three grandchildren; Aurora, Christopher, Caden, as well as one on the way; sisters Marylou Helyar, Roseann Cretella; brothers Frank Streeto, Robert Streeto along with their spouses; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Christian mass will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 12:30 PM, 355 Foxon Road, East Haven, CT, 06513.
I am sending my condolences to the family and I am keeping you in my prayers. May she rest in peace.

She was an incredible human being! She will be deeply missed, to the family my condolences 💐
You all are in my prayers.
We’re so very sorry to learn of your loss. Rita was a day brightener each time we saw her at Jepson. My son Tyler Jakubisyn and daughter Katie Hausler were both lucky to have her in their lives while attending Jepson. She always made everyone feel nurtured and welcome. I had thought of her often in recent years, remembering what a kind and thoughtful person she was. May her memory be a blessing.
Ashley, Michael, and Anthony,
Mom was such a wonderful person. I was so fortunate to have her as my assistant at Jepson. May she rest in peace.
My heart goes out to the entire Consiglio family! I can see the mini van pulling up on Lighthouse Road now music blasting, Rita hanging out the window making us all laugh and smile! There isn’t a memory that crosses my mind of a time we didn’t laugh so hard we almost peed our pants!! I know a lot of time has passed since we all have seen one another but it feels like yesterday! My heart goes out to everyone who was touched by Rita, especially her loving children!! Sending lots of love and strength for the coming days!
Love always,
Blonde Jacki xo
