Robert Carl Chatfield, 71, of Bristol. CT. passed peacefully at home on April 5th, 2019. Special thanks to all who prayed for his peaceful death, your prayers lifted him up.
Bob was the son of the late Bernice and Carl Chatfield and son-in-law of the late Anthony and Frances Mercieri. He was an Air Force Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.
Bob leaves his wife of 46 years, Rose Ann; his son Andrew; his daughter Amy; his “buddy” grandson Antonio; his “princess” granddaughter Camila; his son-in-law Eric; his daughter-in-law JoAnne; his brother-in-law and caregiver Joseph Mercieri; his sister-in-law Cindy Mercieri; his sister Nancy Chadwick of Oklahoma; his Uncle Tom O’Hara of Texas and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob had a kind and gentle spirit and he was always ready to lend a hand in any way he could. He loved going to the casino with cousins Anna and Roseanne. He had a special appreciation for German made cars and always had one in the garage.
Special thanks goes to the staff at The Bristol Hospital Senior Behavior Unit, who helped his family find their way during the last stages of his illness and to the Bristol Hospice Team for helping his family finish his journey. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to The Bristol Hospice, 22 Main St. , Bristol, CT 06010.
A graveside service will take place on April 13, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol, CT., followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory The Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol, CT., 06010. Family and Friends are invited to attend.
