Robert Eugene Sandberg, Jr. 11/14/1965-6/26/21
Robert Sandberg of 222 East Putnam Road, Putnam, Connecticut, died unexpectantly on June 25, 2021, at his residence. He was born November 14, 1965. He was fifty-five years old.
He leaves behind his wife, Valerie, of thirty years, his parents Robert and Dorothy Sandberg, his brothers Donald and Bruce Sandberg, his children Maxwell and Lillian Sandberg and Mike Branca; and additionally, his two nephews, Bradley Jameson and Alexander Arthur, who both held a special place in Rob’s heart.
Robert was a graduate from Johnston High School, in Johnston, Rhode Island. He was an exceptional father who cared for his family and his friends. He learned to be a better man from his mother, Dorothy. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and life-long machinist. He worked at his family’s business, Sandberg Machine, since he was a young lad. Rob always credits his expertise as a machinist to his father, Robert Sandberg, Sr.
He will be dearly missed and not soon forgotten. May he rest in peace.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 2pm, on Sunday July 11, 2021 at the Thompson Rod and Gun club on Brandy Hill Road in Thompson, Connecticut.
