Robert ‘Bob’ Driscoll, 86, a longtime resident of Farmington passed away peacefully on Thursday April 20, 2023. Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Keller Driscoll of Farmington, a stepson, Philip S Farnsworth of Hebron, a stepdaughter, Pamela Farnsworth Jones of Hertfordshire, England, and his sister, Ella Stankiewicz of Arizona. He was Uncle Bobby to his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob is predeceased by his brothers Edgar Jr. and Ronald Driscoll as well as his sister Jean Tacchi. Bob was born in Brewer, Maine on March 23, 1937, to the late Edgar and Margaret (Gass) Driscoll. The family moved to Plainville CT. Bob graduated from Plainville High School and he then served in the United States Air Force. Bob became an accomplished Electrical Designer. He was employed at United Technologies and General Dynamics Electric Boat where he made lifelong friends. At the heart of Bob’s life, he was a wonderful husband to Nancy and a devoted family man. He was also a very hard working and gentle man with an eye for detail and he had a unique and memorable sense of humour. Bob was cherished by his stepchildren for being a wonderful loving dad. He embraced a readymade family and loved nothing more than taking his family to his roots in Maine on several visits and as well as many wonderful camping trips in Vermont. Bob enjoyed getting out and about in retirement and he and Nancy travelled to Jekyll Island, Bermuda, England and Europe. He and Nancy had many friends and together they all enjoyed wonderful day trips throughout New England. As avid fans of basketball and hockey, he and Nancy also supported the community by attending events in Hartford. A private service will be held by the family and all we ask is that You Savor This Wonderful Life as it goes by much too quickly. Our Bob will be remembered with much joy, love and the happy memories he made for us.
