Roberta Joan Wilde, 78, born October 4, 1942, died on Sunday, September 19, 2021. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Grace (Goddard) Wilde. She was predeceased by her parents, also a sister, Ruth Graham, a daughter, Deanna Jo McDougal and a son Randolph V. Leighton. She is survived by her daughter Laura Lee McFarlane of Storrs, Ct. and a sister, Jane Banker of Andover, Ct. She is also survived by six grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren and a niece and nephews.
Roberta worked for 13 years at United Nuclear and then became a certified Home Health Aide, working in that field for many years helping the elderly in private duty, until her retirement. She loved to do crafts and write poetry. She found special joy in having rescued her cat, Sweet Pea, whom she loved dearly.
Roberta was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which was her main focus in life. She spent many hours spreading the “good news” and participating in her faith. Because of this great faith she knew she would one day be in paradise. Her family and friends look forward to being reunited with her in paradise, where “death and mourning and outcry will be no more.”
