Ronald Robert DelMonte (“Hodji”), 71, of Northfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, with his family by his side.
Ronald was born and raised in Torrington, Connecticut, the son of the late John and Donata Marie (“Mary”) Ascenzo DelMonte. He graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School and went on to work as a skilled carpenter for Jack DelMonte Construction, Frank Fisher Construction, and Prospect Mountain Builders LLC.
Ronald found great joy in working on his train village, cheering on the New York Giants, watching old black-and-white movies, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing with his beloved corgi, Teddy.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, John and Donata Marie ("Mary") DelMonte, as well as his two brothers, Jack and Raymond DelMonte.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary DelMonte; his three daughters, Felicia Perniciaro of Torrington, Monica Messenger and her husband Dan of Torrington, and Casey Lawrence and her husband Bret of Morris; his brother, Dennis DelMonte and his wife Kathy of North Carolina; and his great-nephew, Isaac Carlson of Northfield.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Brianna P., Calista P., Caleb P., Ashton P., Cameron P., Eli M., Baby Messenger, and Myla.
All services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Ronald will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, and may God’s light shine upon him forever.
