November 24, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we the family share the passing of Roslyn L. Hardy (Austin) on Monday November 24th 2025 in Bristol CT peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Ros (Luscious- as she liked to joke) was a nature and outdoor enthusiast. She enjoyed hiking, skiing, fishing, horseback riding especially a fire outside. She was crazy for moose or really any animal. She loved taking rides and driving and exploring new roads to fantastic hidden places.
Born January 9th 1964 Roslyn had a remarkably long life's journey of extensive spine and disc disease surgeries along with severe rheumatologic autoimmune disorders. Causing her extreme complications and rendering her totally immobile for a majority of her adult life.
Ros had a “zest for life” , an infectious laugh (yet somewhat devish-ish) and a heart of gold! She was always ready to talk- share a story and a cup of coffee (and it better be good and hot!!)She loved every moment of being a grandmother and leaves behind a legacy of crazy unforgettable numerous memories of love, kindness and laughter.
Roslyn is survived by her deeply devoted and supportive husband of 38 years Scott Hardy of Bristol CT. Her son Michael Buchiere, her loving daughter Heather Hardy and Heather's partner Austin Zalot and his daughter Myla Zalot of Bristol CT, her daughter Isabella Hardy of Washington State. Her parents Ernie and Linda Austin of Bristol CT. Her sisters Renee Austin Bavis and her husband Tom Phillips of Washington State, Rhonda Kvedar of Burlington CT, her children Mitchel and Brooke, her eldest sister Robin Austin who stayed by her little sister's side always and her husband David Bish. Ros also leaves behind 6 grandchildren Melina Hardy(who she shared a very special bond with), Adelynn Zalot of Bristol CT and Dylan, Devyn, Karlie Buchiere of Maine. Also many extended family in VT and NH and friends from all over.
Roslyn's strength, courage and strong determination throughout her life's battles with these debilitating diseases gives us all hope and serves as a shining light to help face any obstacles head-on as she did! Ros was an inspiration, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Roslyn was loved by anyone who knew her; she was the life of the party; her light always shined so bright she will truly be missed. Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
There are no memorial service plans at this time. A celebration of life memorializing Roslyn is being planned for a future time.

WE LOVE YOU!
