Russell Richardson


E. Killingly, CT - Russell Frank Richardson passed away on September 29, 2023 at the age of 85. Born on August 9, 1938, in Monroe, NH he grew up on the family dairy farm in Woodsville, NH.

From an early age Russ had a deep appreciation for nature. He enjoyed drawing animals and building stone walls. His artistic eye and attention to detail was evident in every project he undertook. Russ’s exceptional penmanship was admired during his time at Woodsville High School (class of 1956), where he honed his skills and entered several state competitions. Winning the production of his pamphlet “Key To A Longer Life” by the NH Motor Vehicle Department.

Throughout his life Russ started several successful businesses, worked for several years at the E. I. DuPont company and during his retirement years drove a limo for guests at the Best Western hotel in Norwich.

Russ is survived by his partner of eleven years Sandy Salem Farrell, his first wife Brenda (Galusha) Korpi, his children Wendy (James) Fortney of Genoa, WV, Mark Richardson of Manchester, NH, Michael Richardson of Pittsford, VT, step daughters Michelle Jacaruso of Canterbury, CT and Debbie (Norman) Eccleston of Griswold, CT. He also leaves behind several nieces, a nephew, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Margaret Richardson, two brothers Roderick and Spencer, his second wife, Lynne Richardson and a son in law Thomas Jacaruso.

In accordance with Russ’s wishes, he will be cremated and later a private gathering will be held to honor the memory of this extraordinary individual who touched the lives of so many.
