Ruth Eileen Porro, 93, of Ellington, CT passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024 surrounded by her beloved family.
Ruth was born in Springfield, MA on March 29, 1931 to John J. Wiley and Ruth Skelton Wiley. The youngest of five children, she shared a close bond with her three brothers: John, Richard, Donald, and her sister Betty Jane (Holsapple).
A devoted wife, she shared 69 years of marriage with the late Frank Porro, spending most of their lives in Longmeadow, MA until retiring to Naples FL, in 1995
Ruth loved her family and friends, spending time at the beach and listening to music. She enjoyed good food, fashion and the movies. Wherever she went she was surrounded by friends and the fun followed.
She is survived by her two sons. David and Robert; daughter Maribeth (Jeff) Kaine; five grandchildren Brittany (Colin) Buzzerd, Timothy (Lindsay) Porro, Matthew Porro, Tyler Kaine, Joshua Kaine and one great-grandchild, Madelyn Buzzerd. Ruth was blessed with many nieces and nephews and a community of friends who were touched by her warmth and grace.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on March 29th, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples, Florida. Attendees are invited to gather in the church hall immediately following the private burial service.
