Shannon K. Dunn passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, July 22, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Shannon was born in Hartford, CT on January 8, 1974. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1992. After graduation, Shannon moved to the Gulf Coast where she made her home. Prior to becoming ill, Shannon was employed by the Local Clerks Union 1459 at the Alabama State Port Authority.
Shannon is survived by the love of her life, Ronald A. Bailey, Jr. of Eight Mile, AL; her parents, Patricia & Peter Ignatowicz of Vernon; her brother, Shane (MaryJo) Dunn of Glastonbury; her sister, Jennifer (Kyle) Norton of Windsor Locks; her stepbrother, Darren (Alicia) Ignatowicz of Coventry; her stepsister, Trudy Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL, her nieces, Kelsey & Riley Dunn and Alex Ignatowicz; Susie (Bob) Pate of Mobile, AL; family friend Elaine Whitney, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father, E. Gary Dunn; her beloved nephew, Luke Gary Dunn; Maternal Grandparents, John (Margaret) O’Donnell; paternal grandparents, Elmer (Frances) Dunn and Peter (Helen) Ignatowicz.
Shannon’s favorite time of year was football season when she could watch her beloved New Orleans Saints (WHO DAT!!) She will be missed by so many. Especially, her beloved cats, Benny, Olive and Luna. We will miss your beautiful smile, your loving, caring heart, and your outstanding personality. But most of all, we will miss your unwavering sense of humor, even during this last year. You could always make us laugh during the darkest of times.
We would like to express our appreciation for Hartford Healthcare at Home and all the Hospice staff who have been so helpful in assisting us with continuing to care for Shannon at home.

There will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 2, 2021, at St. Bernard’s Church, 25 St. Bernard’s Terrace, Rockville, CT. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
