Sheila Copeland Naples, 64, of New Britain passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born in Derby on February 6, 1958, a daughter of the late Raymond and Frances Copeland. She was raised in Hamden, was a graduate of Hamden High School Class of 1976 and a graduate of Quinnipiac University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Physical Therapy. She worked at New Rochelle Hospital in New York and then Bristol Hospital as a Physical Therapist, until the time of her death. Sheila will be forever remembered by the people she helped over the years. Sheila loved being with her family and although never having children of her own, she put that motherly love to her nieces and nephews. Sheila loved her family, gardening and the many cats she took in over the years, especially the two she left behind, Eddie and Eli.
Sheila is predeceased by her parents, and is survived by her husband Michael, her loving sister Karen Fitzgerald (Jim), her loving brother Kenneth Copeland (Donna), her niece and Goddaughter Cara Moore (Patrick), who she enjoyed spending time with, her niece Rebecca Clark (Chris) and nephew Kenneth Copeland Jr. She was also blessed with two great nephews Ryan and Dylan Clark and her great niece Kinley Moore. Sheila was blessed to spend her holidays and free time with Kinley who affectionately nicknamed her “La”.
Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at both Smilow Cancer Hospital and Connecticut Hospice for the care and compassion they gave her.
