October 23, 1946 – September 26, 2026

Sheila R. (Metcalf) Breault, age 79, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Sheila was born on October 23, 1946, in Calais, Maine, the daughter of the late William (Scott) and Mary (Campbell) Metcalf. She carried a deep, lifelong connection to her roots. She found true peace in the cool ocean mists of Eastport, watching the boats on the water, and listening to the familiar call of seagulls and foghorns.

Autumn was Sheila’s favorite time of year, and she was always captivated by the vibrant beauty of the changing fall colors. A dedicated hard worker, Sheila spent many years as a supervisor at Babies “R” Us and Frank's Nursery & Crafts. Throughout her career, her warmth, kindness, and genuine care for others allowed her to form deep, meaningful friendships that lasted a lifetime. She left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Sheila carried with her a profound appreciation for the simple beauty of life. She found immense peace and happiness in nature, whether she was camping, tending to flowers, or simply looking up at beautiful skies. Her loving heart and gentle spirit were a constant comfort to those around her.

Above all else, Sheila was entirely devoted to her family. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Breault and his wife Anne, and Jason Breault and his significant other Rebecca Farina, all of East Hartford. She was a cherished grandmother to her five grandchildren, Ayme, Christopher Jr., Natalee, Emily, and Caitlyn Breault, and a doting great-grandmother to Noah, all of whom brought unmistakable and immense joy to her life.

She also leaves behind her two sisters, Margo Sackter of Torrington and Kathleen Metcalf of Orrington, Maine; her niece, Robbin; her nephew, David; and their children, who brought many smiles to her face. She was predeceased by her brother, Lee.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hartford HealthCare Hospice at Home, with special thanks to Amanda, RN, and Taylor, SW, for the extraordinary compassion, care, and support they provided to Sheila and her family during her final days.

Sheila’s love will remain with her family forever—in every flower that blooms, every beautiful sky, and every precious memory they carry in their hearts.

Services: At Sheila's request, all services will be private.
