Sheri Lyn Butler, 56, a long time resident of Bridgeport, CT, passed away unexpectedly into eternal rest on Sunday, September 29, 2019. She was born in Hartford, CT on September 7, 1963. She was the youngest child of the late Clarence and Ruth Butler, Sr.
Raised in Hartford, Sheri attended the Hartford Public Schools and graduated from South Catholic High School, class of 1981. During high school, Sheri attended the Hartford Conservatory. She continued her education at Virginia State University.
Sheri had a heart to help others. Her willingness to sacrifice and share brought comfort to her even when she may not have been feeling her best. Her generosity, thoughtfulness and helpful hand will be greatly missed.
Sheri is survived by her brothers, Marvin (Donna) Campbell, Hartford; Clarence (Kathy) Butler, Jr, Windsor; Michael Butler, New Britain; Jamal Butler, Hartford; and Timothy Butler, Jewett City; sisters, Doris Butler-Googe, Windsor and Michele Butler; nephews, Rasheem Campbell, Covington, GA; Thomas “TJ” (Ayesha) Clarke II, Hartford; Marlon Campbell, Hartford; Ensign Everett Butler, Newport, RI; nieces, Jasmine Butler, Bloomfield; Ashley Butler, Windsor; Tamera Butler, Norwich; great-nieces Aria Campbell, Amaya Campbell, Covington, GA; great-nephews, Thomas Clarke III, Ayden Clarke, Hartford; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Sheri will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
