Sherman Leffingwell Rogers Jr. of Wethersfield passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023. He was 95 years young. Born in Norwich, he was the son of the late Sherman Leffingwell Rogers Sr. and Marion Wolff Rogers.
He leaves behind his three daughters Virginia Klesseck of Glastonbury, Susan (Thomas) Ladny of Portland, and Carolyn (Walter) Lamoureux of Glastonbury.
He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren Sharon, Stephanie, Michael, Christine, Kevin, David, Corrine and seven great grandchildren Johnathan, Elizabeth, Aiden, Evan, Calvin, Eva and Michael.
Sherman was predeceased by his wife of 70 years Ann (Johnsen) Rogers and his son in law Robert Klesseck.
Sherman was an engineer and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and fixing up his cars, boat and motor home. He was also a longtime member of the Rocky Hill Lion’s club.
For over 30 years, Sherman enjoyed traveling around the country with his wife in their motor home. They also spent every summer in Rhode Island living on their boat.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
