Timothy John Fitzgerald

Timothy John Fitzgerald (Tim or Timmy), 61, of Hartford, CT, died on January 31, 2026. Tim was born on September 4, 1964, in Tonawanda, NY. When Tim was young the Fitzgerald family moved to East Hartford, CT. He fondly remembered summers spent on Martha’s Vineyard with his siblings. Tim was intelligent, creative, humorous, charismatic, and a loving father. For those who knew him well, he was also strong-willed, unconventional, and mischievous - but lovable nonetheless.

Tim attended the University of Connecticut where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. His Catholic faith was a focal point in his life, and he spent much of his time with the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist in Meriden, CT. He later moved to Toronto and earned his Master of Divinity from the University of St Michael’s College, part of the University of Toronto.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Grace Kathleen Fitzgerald, and her mother, Donna Kennedy-Fitzgerald, of Toronto, Canada. He is also survived by his siblings and many nieces and nephews: R. Bryan Fitzgerald and his wife Tammy, parents of Alexandra and Chloë; Lisa (Fitzgerald) deWolfe and her husband Pete, parents of Melissa, Justin, Julie, and Kelly; Peter Fitzgerald and his wife Cheray, parents of Marissa, Sean, and Luke; Laurie Fitzgerald; Peter Gilbert and his wife Karen, parents of Alison. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Robert George Fitzgerald (2023) and Nancy Jean (Campbell) Fitzgerald (2010).

Tim will be lovingly remembered by his daughter and all who knew and loved him. His unique personality and presence in life will not be forgotten.

A funeral Mass will be held at the Chapel of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, in Meriden, CT, on May 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM. A luncheon reception will follow adjacent to the Chapel. All are welcome.
