Tobias (“Tobey”) Hussey, 37, was sent into God’s hands on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from injuries sustained in a tragic motor vehicle accident in Colchester, CT. Born on June 15, 1981 in Bristol, CT, he was the son of the late Peter Hussey and Catherine (Gomez) Hussey. Tobey is survived by his partner of 22 years and love of his life, Maria Nanez, his two daughters who were the light of his life, Alana and Peyton Hussey, his older brother Peter Hussey of Bristol, CT and his twin brother Dustin Hussey of Danbury, CT.
Tobey was a loving and caring father, brother and friend to everyone in his life. A natural protector who would do anything for his family, friends and neighbors, he also proudly served his country in the United States Army. Tobey was a huge sports fan and was passionate about the New England Patriots and the New York Yankees. He shared his enthusiasm for sports with his daughter Peyton. You could often find them spending time outside teaching her how to hit a softball and working on her soccer skills. Tobey was a free spirited person with an ability to create something out of nothing making memories for his family along the way. He marched to the beat of his own drum and made friends wherever he went. He also loved to talk politics with anyone who would listen to him! Tobey always put his family and friends first and his memory will never be forgotten. May he forever rest in peace.
Close family and friends will be celebrating his life at a private ceremony.
