Jay Stankiewicz, 68, died peacefully on March 3rd, 2022 surrounded by family love. Those that spent time with Jay know how special she was. She was selfless, kind, generous and dignified. Jay had an uncanny understanding of life and a great understanding of human nature. She rooted for the underdog and always gave a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Jay was a spark that lit the way for those around her. She lived a full life in spite of several illnesses, never complaining or feeling sorry for herself.
Jay was the glue that held so many relatives together. Always reaching out to everyone in the family and making all feel loved and included. She loved her entire family unconditionally. Jay loved spoiling her children and grandchildren, watching her husband sing. She loved line dancing and being with her 'girls'.
The hospital staff grew fond of Jay in the short time she was with them. She remained vibrant, beautiful and spirited into her final days.
Jay was one of nine McIlwain brothers and sisters and is survived by five; Vadon, Alice, Jackie, Vadona and Vicki-Jo; her husband, Thomas; three children, Vania, Vance and Veejay; four grandchildren, Payton, Hudson, Kinley and Victoria, her best friend, Linda, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Vana and Vern, and her sister Vanda.
In memory of Jay's life, a Celebration Party will be held:
April 3rd, Starting at 3:00 pm
Italian Social Club (Club on the Hill)
