Victor J. Pugliese 1937-2022

On Friday, June 17th, 2022, Victor J. Pugliese, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 84 surrounded by his family.


Victor was born on December 23rd, 1937 in Hartford, CT to Vincenzo and Antonietta (Rizzo) Pugliese. He served in the US Army from 1957-1959 and remained active in the Reserves until 1963. Victor had an eclectic career encompassing everything from owning the Lenox Tavern in Hartford, serving as a Yellow Cab driver, proprietor of a Moving Company and Circulation Manager for both the Hartford Times and the Hartford Courant but most notably as the Executive Manager, right hand and loving support system to his wife Elizabeth who owned Elaine Powers Fitness Clubs in West Hartford. Vic had a passion for the beach, casino slots, vigorous debate, his family, and his wife’s spaghetti sauce.


He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Marie (Pugliese) Theriault, and his brother Lewis Pugliese. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elizabeth (Babbitt) Dauphinais Pugliese; his children Kelly Pugliese, Glenn Pugliese and his wife Geraldine and his stepchildren George Dauphinais and Donna (Dauphinais) Naparstek and her partner Wendy Aarons-Corman and his beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Gabriella Naparstek and Jessica and Sean Pugliese.


There will be a private celebration of Victor’s life for friends and family.
